Description
Recombinant BMP-2 is 26.0 kDa homodimeric protein consisting of two 115 amino acid polypeptide chains. It is a potent osteoinductive cytokine capable of inducing osteoblast differentiation in various cell types in association with osteoconductive carriers such as collagen and synthetic hydroxyapatite. BMP-2 is used to enhance osteogenic differentiation of human adipose-derived stromal cells and has been shown to induce chondrocyte formation also.
