Description

Chymotrypsin is a powerful enzyme that selectively breaks down peptide bonds involving L-isomers of tyrosine, phenylalanine, and tryptophan. It efficiently acts on amides, esters, and bonds containing aromatic amino acids, as well as those containing leucyl, methionyl, asparaginyl, and glutamyl residues. With 241 amino acid residues, chymotrypsin is a protein composed of three peptide chains: an A chain 13 residues , a B chain 131 residues , and a C chain 97 residues .
